The Lost City of Z Censored for PG-13 Rating

Adventure Movie Previously Rated R

Back in November 2016, the adventure epos The Lost City of Z was submitted to the MPAA. The film adaptation of the best-selling book stars Charlie Hunnam and Robert Pattinson and is typical material for a PG-13 release. At least that’s what the distributor hoped to achieve but instead the ratings board issued its “R” rating for brief violence.

In order to get the desired PG-13 rating, the studio resubmitted the movie in a censored version that is now less graphic in the violent scenes that earned the film its previous classification. The new rating now reads:

Lost City Of Z, The - Rated PG-13 for violence, disturbing images, brief strong language and some nudity.

NOTE: RE-RATE. FILM EDITED. PREVIOUS "R" RATING, BULLETIN NO. 2450 (11/9/16) VOIDED.  ONLY THIS EDITED VERSION IS RATED.

The Lost City of Z has not yet a release date for US cinemas but will start in the UK and Germany in March 2017.
